What to Do for Something Blue

What to Do for Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Well, we sure got something blue down! This chic blue beach wedding was everything and more. Take a look at Lauren + Alex’s wedding day at Beach Haven, NJ for inspiration on how to incorporate something blue into any detail of your wedding!

How much is blue much?

Our lovely bride, Lauren, curated the design of her chic beach wedding. Most of the touches of blue were inspired by the colors of the serene New Jersey beaches. The escort cards featured a watercolor blue design hinting at the effortless beauty of the environment. To keep the overall look chic, shades of blue were used to highlight the whites and gold in the rest of the design. Mixed into the florals at each table bunches of blue, giving the perfect pop of color.

Also at the tables, the napkin linens and table numbers had just the right touch of blue in them to play off the centerpieces. Each table had matches for the sparklers at the afterparty, and you already know what color the boxes were! Incorporating different shades of blue is key to ensure it doesn’t become overwhelming or take over the entire design theme.

BLUE ATTIRE

Just because you want to incorporate blue, doesn’t mean it has to be all solid blue! Patterns and prints are the perfect way to bring movement into the overall design and avoid overwhelming it with one color. This was best seen in her bridesmaid dresses! Her bridesmaids all wore different style dresses, mixing and matching shapes and fabrics. This is one of our favorite trends, as it gives each one of your girls a personality, only adding to the uniqueness of your wedding day design! An LLG Pro Tip: send your girls the color swatch to make sure everyone has the same shade.

The groom also had his shade of blue, navy blue for his tuxedo! We loved the inclusion of the light blue pocket square and tie to complement the blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses. This entire wedding design was executed perfectly!
