From Fish Pedicures to Beachside Hookah: The Best Pre-Wedding Activities in Greece
Planning a destination wedding in Greece?
Compiling trip notes from our Cyclades tour, we put together a list of our favorite places where you can host pre-wedding activities—from rehearsal dinners under the stars, to beach days with the girls for a bachelorette party, to daytime activities for guests. This list will fill your timeline with unforgettable experiences across Santorini and Mykonos.
Have the iconic caldera views all to yourself by renting out this private winery for your wedding events, perched literally on the side of a cliff in Santorini, Greece.
Formed into nature, Venetsanos Winery was built in 1949 and became the first-ever industrial winery in Santorini, Greece. Made famous for its stunning architecture, there’s a museum that explains the development of winemaking in Santorini and with some of the best views on this Cyclades Island, Venetsanos Winery is not only a tourist favorite, but it’s one of the only wineries that the locals will visit.
Whether you rent out the venue for your rehearsal dinner, a group wine tasting with your family and friends, or for the wedding itself, Venetsanos Winery is the perfect place to host a destination wedding or pre-wedding activity. There’s no better backdrop than their exclusive and unobstructed sunset views.
With traditional whitewashed indoor and outdoor venue spaces available, you will never have to worry about a weather contingency plan for your destination wedding events at Katikies Mykonos.
Katikies has multiple open-air event spaces with select overhangs so you can change up the scenery for each pre-wedding event. There’s a cute all-white brunch spot where we envision the perfect farewell breakfast with au naturel, authentic decor. The blue and white pillows and ivory umbrellas lend to the perfect setting in front of the Mediterranean Sea.
Let the view speak for itself by the sand-surrounded pool, where you can have a beach-like wedding welcome party, complete with your toes in the sand, sun beds to lounge on, and a private infinity pool. Transition to their intimate restaurant under the stars, Mikrasia, for a surprise 7-course rehearsal dinner where each course has its own unique wine pairing!
The best part? Since this is Katikies Mykonos’ first full season open, you’ll be the first of Greece-goers to be posting it all over Instagram.
We discovered Pasaji restaurant on a walk into Ornos from our hotel, so it should almost be explained as the venue that found us. We were immediately, absolutely obsessed!
This open-air shisha lounge is complete with a hookah bar (literally) where you can pick your favorite hookah via color as well as the flavor for your shisha alongside beachside cocktails. The colorful hookahs are eye candy while you sit under the Mediterranean sun on your day beds, loungers and bean bag couches.
Pasaji is trendy, fun and has a great atmosphere in a great location! It’s a must-see when visiting downtown Ornos with your wedding guests. Host a pre-wedding hookah session, or late night after-party at this Mykonos gem.
Nammos Beach Club
Looking for the perfect bachelorette trip hot spot or just a day out with the girls before your wedding day? Go straight to Nammos Village in Mykonos.
Nammos Village includes luxury shopping through an outdoor mall of authentic whitewashed Grecian buildings, home to brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Rolex, and Bulgari. Complete your shopping trip with a beach day at Nammos Beach Club by renting the private day beds (where you might spot Leonardo Di Caprio or Ariana Grande) or having a fabulous lunch with wagyu beef steak, truffle pasta, sea bass, and an ice-carved boat full of fresh sushi.
One of the highlights of our trip was learning that Nammos Beach Club could also be entirely closed out for a wedding buyout…AKA the beach can be completely privatized for you and your guests, complete with a stay at the nearby Mykonos Blu exclusive resort, part of the Grecotel Hotel brand.
You read it right—if you’re looking for a unique spa experience for guys and girls alike, head to Oia in Santorini for a fish pedicure!
Tiny red garra fish will swarm your feet as you place them in a basin, nibbling the dead skin off of your feet.
“It honestly is the weirdest and funniest sensation,” said LLG’s CEO Lauren Grech, who experienced the fish pedicure firsthand. “I freaked out and almost didn’t put my feet in the water. I literally made my assistant hold my hand, LOL. However, once I overcame the ticklish sensation, I was finally able to relax and enjoy the experience. It’s still one that I look back on and laugh at, so it’s a great experience for destination wedding guests. You can even rent out one of the spas in a little Santorini village.”
