How To Spend Valentine's Day At Home

How-To-Spend-Valentine's-Day-At-Home

Another holiday with “At Home” attached to the end of it. But, hey, we’re getting good at this now! Valentine’s Day At Home will be the ultimate intimate experience for you and your loved one(s). Whether it be a date night, a night with a few friends, or a self-love evening, we have amazing ideas to elevate your At Home game.

1. Recreate Your First Date

Bring back the magic of meeting someone for the first time by recreating your first date! Maybe you still have the outfit you wore that day or remember the song that was playing in the background. Little details from the place where you shared your first date, or somewhere significant to your relationship, can bring back butterflies and memories to cherish. Plus, it will be so fun to look back on early photos of your relationship as you recreate the first date!

2. Cooking & Cocktails

Just like you two, nothing goes better together than cooking and cocktails! Choose a meal to make together, and spice it up by also creating your own signature cocktail as its perfect companion. Go all out and make it a multiple-course meal or make it a competition! Whatever you come up with together can even become your go-to item to bring to a party (whenever we can party again)!

Make it Friends: Challenge each friend to make a separate dish for the evening.

Make it Self Love: Challenge yourself to make your favorite meal from a restaurant or show.

3. Write Love Letters

Being locked inside has made us all turn to technology. Let’s take a step back and appreciate traditional expressions of love. There’s nothing more special than a handwritten letter, so show your significant other how special they are to you by putting pen to paper! A love letter makes for a personal keepsake that you two can look back on as your relationship flourishes and individually take with you whenever you’re apart.

Make it Friends: Draw names and write an appreciation letter for the name you draw.

Make it Self Love: Journal! Write yourself a self love proclamation of how amazing you are.

4. Learn a Dance

TikTok dance or the waltz, we’re not judging! Whatever you choose, bust some moves...together! Have fun rearranging your space to make a dancefloor or simply play your song and dance in the kitchen. You can even elevate it by dressing up, no sense in letting a dress hang in your closet...give it a spin! Especially if you have your wedding dress, relive your first dance and make the evening special!

Make it Self Love: Dance party for one, please! Turn on your favorite songs and let loose!

5. Watch the Sunset

Watching sunset is so easy to let slip, but taking a moment to appreciate this simple wonder with your partner, friends, or just you, can make for an intimate little moment. It also gets you out of the house! You can even take a stroll or drive to catch it in the evening.

6. Spa Day

A good face mask and bath bomb never hurt! Make your own spa day together by incorporating some of your favorite relaxing elements. Maybe that means massages, maybe it means lighting some candles and drawing a bath, or even painting your nails. Whatever you two need, do it together and let the outside world slip away!

7. Game Night

Classic night-in fun! Round up some classic board games for some companion competition. If you play multiple games or rounds of the same game, you can keep track of points throughout the night and choose a reward for the winner! Anything from choosing what  to make or where to order from for dinner, the movie to watch later, or where to take a spontaneous drive to!

8. Get Crafty!

It probably feels like you already did all the DIYs Pinterest has to offer. But doing a craft together can be more personal than all the calligraphy and crochet you’ve burned through in 2020. Print and cut out photos of the two of you to add to a craft of your liking or have some fun and try and paint each other!

Make it Friends: Let each person pick a craft for another friend to do.

Make it Self Love: Take on a new hobby or revisit one of your old favorite crafts to do!

9. Go For a Walk

Maybe you’ve had a crazy work week or are going stir crazy inside all over again. A simple walk or drive to slow things down could be the perfect Valentine’s Day activity! You two can spend some quality time together with a nice stroll or drive to an unknown destination. Explore together, make a playlist, bring the dog... you name it! The little moments count the most. You can really make your life a rom-com if you’re able to catch some stars at night!

10. Make Your Own Movie Theater

Dinner and a movie? Been there, done that. What you haven’t done is sit in the comfort of your own home movie theater! With the help of a projector, you can turn any space into a cinema. Use pillows and blankets to make the ultimate cozy corner of your home! Stringed lights are never a bad idea to help set the mood.
